My new friend at TheHivesMind did the original and I touched it up and worked on it a bit. This is my first 3d model I've made/remixed, so I'm pretty happy how it turned out. Next step is to get it printed.

There's a higher poly count that I have, but it's 53Mb... not sure that's even needed other than for fun/show lol... also, that's what is the jpegs there.

Thanks again to TheHivesMind for the hookup

How I Designed This

I streamed the whole thing on my twitch account.

Not sure how long the videos will stay on there, but ya it's https://www.twitch.tv/icecursor

Also, as this is my first time using Maya 2016 from Autdesk there was a huge learning curve, but thanks to google and youtube... it's complete :p

Looking forward to making more.

Have you actually printed this? Looks like a support removal nightmare..

Hey Butters

So I'm working with a buddy of mine, who has a 3d printer, and we've been looking to the best way to print it. It's down to splitting the model into 3 or 4 slices, or just straight up print the model and work on the removal of the risers and supports.

He's had a lot of success splitting a model with small details when he prints it big and splits the model up into sections, and then glues them together and lightly sand it down.

On top of the how, I still haven't decided if I want this is a clear abs or pla or just do a simple white or grey. I'll update this once we get it sorted out.
