NOTE: Print at 150% to get the same size as in the pictures.

Brick out your door with this oversized Legostyle holiday wreath. I know these are not exact large-scale versions of the pieces on which they're based. I just eyeballed em.

Studs fit on the leaf pieces. Leaf pieces fit together with some pushing. Both pieces print with some unsightly parts when printed without supports but these can easily be trimmed off.

The pieces shown in photos were all printed at Low Quality on a Replicator 2.

Added optional stud with no text on it.

can you fix the studs so they can be stacked up?

Having a really tough time getting the leaves to print. seems so simple.
trying at 200%

Having a hellova time getting these together so I checked the file. Turns out both the OD and ID are 18mm (within .005mm). This isn't enough of a tolerance for the pieces to join together as they're essentially the same size. I did print at 150% but still can't get them together as a result

I'd also suggest adding chamfer instead of overhangs on the main leaves.

Could you reprint the red studs at like 147% or something to get the tolerance needed?

I did end up printing the studs at 152% to get them to fit on the leaves but the leaves are one piece so scaling doesn't do anything on them

I need to print this!! Not sure if it'll fit in my Micro3D, though. I've added it to my list.

I printed it on my Micro at 75% http://www.thingiverse.com/make:264791

Giant Lego Christmas Wreath

Thanks for this! I have some VERY avid LEGO fan friends, and this will make a PERFECT gift for them this Christmas!

I'm having a heck of a time printing studs because of the overhang. What specs did you use to print it? I'm using a Flashforge Creator with Octave ABS filament.

I used petg with supports and the supports came off super easy on my lulzbot

Keebie, would you mind sharing your settings for petg on the Lulzbot? I can't seem to prevent stringing with petg.

Im using a .50 nozzle set to layer height of .3, 235 for nozzle, 85 for bed.

Thanks, Keebie! I was much closer to the manufacturer's recommended print temp of 260, and you have no idea how helpful this simple switch was.

Truly appreciated!

What brand? MakerGeeks?

That stuff is the worst, just FYI. It's expensive, but try MakerBot band, just as a benchmark. I have had nothing but trouble with esun. I really like makergeeks too. Much more affordable than makerbot

Can you upload a stud piece without the word xmas on the face?

Added a textless stud stl for you. Enjoy!

And maybe-maybe one that says LEGO? :)

I modeled a version of the stud with the "LEGO" text, in the correct font. I still need to print it (tomorrow) to make sure it comes out; let me know if you are still interested in it.

YES! Thanks!!!! I had some stuff come up, but I've printed 3 of the 6 leaves at 200% scale. Super excited! (and so is the 9 year old :P)

PS. I've been printing .2mm layers, 5% rectilinear infill, 5 top and bottom layers with PETG...about 9hrs per leaf.... apparently you have to print the PETG pretty slow

Have a look at the make I just uploaded: http://www.thingiverse.com/make:176411. If that looks good to you, I can PM you the STL file.

Giant Lego Christmas Wreath

That looks great! I'd love it! I think I'm going to alternate between lego and Xmas. Are you worried about copyright or something?

Not exactly, I just don't see a way to upload a file to this existing design, without starting a new thing. PM sent!

Could you send the PM to me too please ?

That's awesome, I like the attention to detail. Could you perhaps PM the STL file to me as well, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey Guys, video is up for this project: https://youtu.be/3TkYY7BgmNk

Let me know what you'd like to print next ;).

am I the only one that thinks it looks like legos?jk

They are Legos!!

i know i said jk

What percent infill worked best for you?

I did 15% infill but you could probably get away with 10 if you want to save filament.

My wife wont let me put this on our door...

Said the guy reusing someone else's joke? lol

Lol, that comment didn't populate before :P whoops :)

Looks like it's time for a new wife... jk xP

love it!
you should make more big lego stuff, like big 2 by 4s as a boredom stopper

That would be AWESOME!!!
