This is meant to be an addition to the Smooth X-axis for Prusa i3 by MazaaFIN as I wanted to use a toothed idler pulley instead of two small flanged ball bearings. Unfortunately, the tensioner arms he designed do not accommodate the increased width of the toothed pulley.
So I designed a new arm from scratch based on the basic measurement that would fit in the tensioner bracket. It is intended for idlers with 16 teeth (14mm diameter, 8.5mm with, M3 axis).
Note: I only created the longer arm as it fits my setup and I have no need for the shorter arm.
- Material: PLA
- Infill: 25% (adjust to your liking, 25% is enough for reasonable belt tension)
Print the part lying down, otherwise all the pull will work against the printed layers and the part will break more easily.
Some sanding may be required to make the arm fit smoothly into the idler bracket.
Created in Fusion 360, then prepared for printing using Meshmixer.
