tldr: Frame Brace for the back of the y-Axis Anet A8 January 2017 version (135mm distance between both acrylic plates in the back). Does not fit Anet A8 2017 May Version.
There are many efficient frame braces for the front of the anet A8. But not a single one for the back...
The designs on thingiverse are either
- bulky and waste a lot of material
- inefficient and don't solve the problem
- for the old version of Anet A8
So here is my attempt.
This is a massive piece that braces directly against the motor, where the tention is created. It uses the unused holes in the Acrilic, so no drilling is required.
And best of all, it uses less than 50 g material.
For the front of the y-axis I recommend simhopps design:
You will need two additional M3 screws + nut
It may not be compatible with bulky belt holder designs
If you need a belt holder that fits, have a look a my design:
Wall thickness 1.6 mm
bottom/ top layer thickness 1.2 mm
