Summary

This thing is an LED light stand which can be switched between 4 colour changing LEDS or 2 super bright white LEDs. There are 3 parts. The base which takes the 3 off AA batteries and there associated clips as well as two switches and a circuit board with the LEDS. The lid is printed separately and clips into place. The third part is the "window" which fits inside the top. This needs to be printed in clear or very transparent filament (I used Taulman T Glass).

Wiring, assembly details and list of materials are on my blog here https://somei3deas.wordpress.com/2017/02/02/dual-function-led-ornament-stands/. I have put some instructions below but no great detail. I was unable to find a miniature ON-OF-On switch so ended up using two ON-ON switches. If you can find a miniature ON-OFF-ON switch, it will simplify the wiring. I have included the Open Scad file so that the design can be adapted and/or modified to suit.

Wiring

I'll put assemble details and wiring instructions on my blog and post a link here if I can. Basically, this thing takes 3 off AA batteries so you need battery clips. I used Keystone 228 clips for the +ve and Keystone 209 for the negative. You'll need 2 off miniature on-on slide switches. I used PIC model number SS-22F25-g. And you'll need to make up the LED board which has 4 off 5mm slow colour changing LEDs and 2 off 5mm super bright white LEDs.All the colour changing LEDs are are wired in parallel with individual current limiting resistors and share the same positive supply which goes to one side of one switch. The white LEDS are wired similarly and their common positive supply goes to he other side of that switch. The Batteries are wired in series to give 4,5 volts. The positive terminal goes to the centre of one switch which acts as on on/off switch. One side of this switch goes to the centre of the other switch which acts to swap between the white LEDS and the colour changing LEDs. The strip board with the LEDS should be 25mm x 25mm to fit in the recess in the printed part and a small dab of glue may be required to hold it in place. The insert "window" will also need a small dab of glue.
