Giraffe type holder for 2004 Smart Controller on Prusa printers.
- longer arm, prepared to take additional 5 or 10 cm of LED-strip.
- STL-files with and without support
- Lock ring
The panel is simply hooked to the tip of the left smooth rod of the z axis. Two hinges are making the mount very flexible.
On the left side is a keyed slot to the SD socked, witch makes it super easy to insert the SD card.
The reset/kill button is realized in X shape and it is slightly set back to prevent accidentally killing the print.
Underneath the frame is a grove for 15cm LED strip. It is connected by the red wire in the pictures to the "12V_AUX" socket on my RAMPS board. The Socket is located between the fuses and the X axis stepper driver. (To control brightness I used an step down converter.)

The frame is quite pron to warping. By adding the four half Cubes to the corners I managed to almost eliminating actual warping. Evan when printing in ABS ...
Print the frame with 20...24% infill, 0.25mm layer height, brim and support for angles steeper than 50°. Support is only really needed at the SD slot.
The arm has one side to be printed on. Use 25...30% infill, 0.25mm layer height and brim but no support.
For the knobs use 0.15mm layer height and no support.
