I want to make a basic R/C car from the basic Arduino starter kit.
Step one is mounting the included stepper motor to an axle for the rear drive wheels.
This is the minimalist mount for that - I am imagining that I'll fix it to a chassis using the two bolts already used in the project.
I'd like to not use any additional parts, but for now it needs an axle (mine seems to be 1.88mm diameter, I guess its supposed to be 2mm) and the two bolts are m4's
I plan to do a mount for the servo to do the steering at the front.... a mount for the arduino board... wheels, IR receiver (maybe bluetooth or wifi maybe GPS or whatever(!)) but this is a start.
The pictured item is one of each gear and the mount - the power gear goes on the stepper, the tight gear grips the axle and the loose gear is just for balance (maybe I'll do a differential.... for now it is probably not actually needed).

Still using all the default settings nothing special - printing in PLA.
Push fit - so may need tweaking for your printer/filament.
The drive gear is a tight push onto the stepper, the tight gear is a tight push onto the axle.
I am getting better at FreeCAD - started setting out the centres of the holes and then just adding lines/arcs with tangents etc...
Had a few attempts tweeking the exact sizes for the towers, space between, size of holes for tight and lose fit.
The final photo is actually a slightly earlier prototype - the posts were too close together so I had to clip the tips of the drive gear(!) but It fitted and meshed in the end.
