Hi. I print the version 2 then pass it on Cura 4 and I go this. Any advise ?

I think this is my favorite temp tower so far I love the little box inside really shows me how much ooze I'm getting then the stringing test on the other side is perfect

What are your retraction settings on this?

Hi Folks -
Within Cura v3.5 under Extensions -> Post Processing there is a Modify GCode option. Within the "Post processing plugin" there is an options to "ChangeAtZ 5.1.1 (Experimental)". You can set changes based on layer number or the height. Based on the post from RichGain below, I chose to set 215 at base, then work down -5 C from there to end at 190 C for top.

Layer for my file was set as 0.15 so Cura calculated the height layer for me for this. I did check the gcode file manually and found the updates posted within the file...
;ChangeAtZ V5.1.1: executed at 16.20 mm
M117 Printing... ch@ 16.2
M104 S205.000000 T0

Thanks for this!

Really interesting experiment - thanks for the idea and the STL.

; In Slic3r put this script into
; Printer Settings > Custom G-Code > Before layer change
;
; Command M104 S### indicates the nozzle temperature for that floor: change to your taste/material
; Model seems compatible with layer heights up to 0.3mm

{if layer_z==2.7}
; T tower floor 1
M104 S240
{elsif layer_z==29.7}
; T tower floor 2
M104 S220
{elsif layer_z==43.2}
; T tower floor 3
M104 S210
{elsif layer_z==56.7}
; T tower floor 4
M104 S200
{elsif layer_z==70.2}
; T tower floor 5
M104 S190
{endif}

Thanks for the code. I needed to change my values slightly but that was easy given your example. Much appreciated.

This is how high I think each is (layer high .1mm)
161
296
431
566
(Layer high .15 mm)
108
198
289
378

What slicer do you use to test this? Like the temp amount
I'm getting my first printer after the start of next month. I want to test out the filament before I start printing

The base is 2.70 mm thick.
Each floor of the tower is 13.50 mm higher than the last.
Here's an example of settings for PETG at 0.25 mm layer height:
Layer 1 - 205C
Layer 66 - 210C
Layer 120 - 215C
Layer 174 - 220C
Layer 228 - 225C

please give us the layer change values?

what is the height of each transition? so I can set Simplify3D to change the temp of the nozzle... THANKS!

Temp numbers would be great.

I added some in tinkercad really easy to do.

Any chance I can get a .stp file for this? I'd like to add the temp text to the tower and I'm not sure how to customize the .stl files..
Thanks.

Same here. Some STEP file or something I can edit in Fusion 360 to add numbers would be super. Please share the source.

Yes same thing here. That would be great!
