Summary

This is a work in progress so more parts will be added when time passes. I am redesigning the mounting solution for the Anet A8 so that the E3D assembly can be as close to the moving axis as possible. With this way of mounting it you will get less strain on the X-axis rods and the weight is nog as far out of the center of the axis thus meaning less twisting of those rods. Keep checking in for updates and please leave comments with suggestions or tips.

I am also trying to get it as compact as possible.

I will design it for the entire community so I need your feedback!

Thank you in advance!

thank you Lennartvm.. I made this and it worked out awesome.. It needed some small adjustments, but nothing ever is 100% accurate.. thank you again..

Nice design, What fan shroud should be used with this?

Love this design, simple compact and to the point!
id love to see a circular or semicircular part cooling fan duct.

What fan shroud are you using?

How do you guys print this? With supports? Or rotate model? Would be great if the STL came ready to print with your recommended rotations etc.

I'm going to try with corner supports and rotation, like this (hope it helps someone else): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1171278/Fan_clip_v1.gcode

Exactly what i was looking for! The mounting bracket in the middle of the mounting plate and as close to the linear rods as possible! Could you make a ziptie mount for the bearings as well? i dont really like the aluminium blocks the linear bearings are sitting in because the have quiete a bit of backlash in there..
cheers

I will do a design like that and personally i use the aluminium blocks with Igus bearings. They work fine for me. And the aluminium blocks are not that heavy compared to the hotend+fan and part cooling fan so i don't bother.
