Have you ever wanted to interact and control a spacecraft? The Cosmoneer Proto Stand is a simple design that simulates the low-friction zero-g environment of space. Wireless power and adjustable height simulate solar power and day/night. Use this with the Cosmoneer Proto for a 1DOF desktop satellite simulator.
These are all the parts required to print a complete Cosmoneer Proto 1DOF Stand. You will need additional parts to complete this build:
- 5v Wireless Inductive charging Coil & Trasmitter PCB
- 5.5 x 2.1mm Female DC power socket
- 4" Tie wraps (Qty 3)
- String & Hook (or equivalent)
The Hanger arms are more fragile when printed in PLA. ABS printing is successful on the Cube 3 with a modified Cube 3 printer.
The modified Cube 3 has the fiollowing:
- Heated print bed
- Borosilicate glass plate
- Printe bed plastic is removed and magnets epoxied with high-temp epoxy
- Non-3D systems ABS filament
When using a heated print bed, set the heat to 95 degrees C when the first layer is being printed. Temp can be lowered to 85 degrees C after the first layer is printed.
3D systems Cube 3 glue adhesive is used when printing these ABS parts for successful bed adhesion. Glue is applied when the bed is up to temp.
