This is brilliant! I had the same issues you described while printing another part with a similar honeycomb structure. Really nice solution.

Thanks for this one - printed one out so my Pangolin and Marvins have a place to sit. Need to make another for the other side of the monitor. Very clever use of the infill for this.

I don't know why more people aren't liking and getting into this one - prints in the time it takes to print to small marvins!

Great idea! I noticed the same problems you did with the original model.
What are you using to monitor the camera on your printer? I like that.

It's just an old Raspberry Pi 2 LCD kit. I received it as a gift but it's the same as this one: http://www.banggood.com/5-Inch-800-x-480-HDMI-TFT-LCD-Touch-Screen-For-Raspberry-PI-2-Model-B-B-A-B-p-1023438.html

My dog knocked it off the table and the acrylic frame broke so I printed a new one: http://www.thingiverse.com/make:298822

The camera is just a Raspberry Pi camera v2 hooked up to an RPi 3 running Octoprint.

Case for Pi 5in HDMI touch screen

I'm currently printing the original, and do notice all those retractions and some skipping.
I reduced the extrusion speed and printing speed to avoid too much issue.

Your solution is pretty clever, well done!
