This is a model that allows you to mount an E3D hotend to a regular RepRap Mendel 3D printer.
Please be aware:
This design has captured nuts. Either print the version that allows you to place them in post-print (listed as
Hotend_holder_plate_post_placeable_nuts_final.stl), or you will be required to pause the print and place them in before resuming, which tends to result in a stronger print.
Captured nut and bolt Sizes
This design uses three bolts to attach the outer part to the inner part, these bolts have a diameter of 3.8mm, thread length of ~15.5mm (no unthreaded section). The corresponding nuts have an across flat measure of 7mm and are 2.9mm deep
Attachment to the printer is designed to work with the original nuts and bolts from the printer as it is a replacement for the plastic mount in which the hotend sits. The fan can be attached using the screws that are normally used to attach it to the original (usually blue) fan mount for the E3D hotend.
This design has captured nuts that will require you you to pause the print and place them in before resuming, without doing so this print will not work.
