In Asia it is very trendy to wear designer frames without the lens! Brag to all of your friends that you rock the latest style and have Real 3D glasses :)

I have included the original Google sketchup files so that you can modify to your likings. Enjoy and be sure to post up your pics!

Great work MintingMill! I highlighted these glasses in a video:

Easy to slice and print, and surprisingly durable hinges.

Excellent design!  I was able to print using my Makerbot Replicator without changing anything, and the frames fit my face perfectly! I only have one suggestion, to make the hinges fit better. The ear-piece hinges are just a little bit too wide to fit the eyeglass part of the frame. I broke one of the hinges trying to 'force' it in, and then I realized with some sanding I could shave the hinge down just enough for a snug fit. (I'm a newbie what can I say lol)  Now I'm wondering...how to attach real lenses to these glasses??? Hmmm...

Did you ever manage to find a way to do this?I'd love to be able to 3D print some new frames to replace my broken ones and just pop the same lenses in.

I made some for some lenses. I posted some details in the instructions: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:456863
