Our multi-group D&D 5e campaign season came to an end with the battle against this epic creature. Eight 3'x6' tables with grid flipchart paper covering them to represent the body of water, scale 1" = 10ft (probably coulda been 20ft for better scale, and used counters for characters instaed of our heroic scale minis.)

Anyway. 6 o 7 groups. each DM managed a table space, so if your ship(s) crossed onto another table, that DM took over your part of the encounter.

Depth charges were used to lure the body to the surface, bringing it up ..i think..4 times? during the battle. Out of 10 or so ships, we lost 1 or 2, zero deaths, and it was a hell of a lot of fun. 2 dm's were in charge of the creature. one managing the tentacles, one managing the body. It was loud, chaotic and a heck of a lot of fun.

Does anyone know the % scale change for 1"x1"?
