Simple razor blade plane for balsa wood and other soft woods. I can be used for shave down leading and trailing edges, fuselages, wings and tails for free flight or RC planes.

Print Settings












I used Esun PLA. 195°C for printing head and 70°C for bed. 0,4mm nozzle.


For finishing it, you will need M2x20mm screw and M2 nut and razor blade from local model shop.

In PLA, width needs to be resized to 89-90% to fit standard US (1.5" wide) blades properly. Appears to be designed for 2 mm screws, which I didn't have on hand. To make work with 3 mm, rescale (x-y) knurled piece to ~120%. Slot in base will need to be carved or drilled open for 3 mm after resizing. I used a soldering iron to gently heat and bury the screw head flush with the bottom.

I had diferent blades, so this is why is wider. You cau use screws near size to M2 scews, just drill bigger hole and make nut little bigger.
