This Easter Egg is designed to be printed with any 3D printer, no need for multi extruders. Just print each layer in a different color one at a time or print 6-7 full eggs in one color each then mix and match to create colorful holiday decorations.
For a multi color egg you can either print each egg one layer at a time, switching filament colors between layers, or print a full egg in each color then mix and match. I printed 6 full eggs in each color then mixed up the layers to create the eggs in the pictures.
Assembly will require glue and small lengths of 1.75mm filament. I used cyanoacrylate (super glue) and filament that was left over from spent rolls that were to short for printing.
Assemble the two top layers together (layer 5 and 6) with short lengths of filament. A little bit of super glue is all that is needed, no need to soak it. Assemble the bottom two layers the same way (layer 0 and 1). Next assemble the middle three layers with slightly longer pieces of filament and glue. The dots of layer 3 have two different types, 4 holes are deeper then the others. Dry fit these to ensure they are nice and flush before glueing. Finally glue the layer assemblies together.
Unfortunately it is not as easy to assemble as I would have liked, maybe a future design will be snap together so I will not glue my fingers together again.
