Maybe a dumb question but do you have to use a tap if installing this on an AM8? I'm about to start building my AM8 and I haven't gotten to any tapping part so I'm not sure when you need to use a tap and when you don't.

Replying to my own question but hopefully someone will find this helpful in the future. The answer is that you do NOT have to tap anything to use this or most parts with the AN8. Everything fits in an aluminum channel. Definitely you will want to buy some Hammer Head T slot nuts as this will allow you to add things after the frame is completed. The only tapping is for 2 of the rubber feet on the bottom of an extrusion (versus in the channel). And, if you are tap-shy, you can have Misumi tap the 440 mm extrusions for you. Just pick left side or right side; it doesn't matter. You just need one end tapped on each of the 440 extrusions.

Is this for the pancake motor or will this fit a normal Motor that came with my ender 3?

It's made for a normal (40mm) motor but it should work with any nema 17, including a pancake motor, you just can't use the cutout on the bottom for the connector/wires if it's shorter and will have to rotate it 180 degrees instead.

Okay i have just the normal motor which is why i was wondering :) ... So do you attach it to the rail basically right next to the filament roll and then run the ptfe down into the extruder?

This is what i was looking for, thanks! Printed in ABS and mounted without any issue.
