What is the print time on this?

I love classy octopi, he tells the best stories!

We still get great mileage out of this!

Fancier Accessories

We have made five fancy octopuses, they like to have tea parties in our office and look down on the animals that are not fancy.

I've printed a dozen of these so far! This has been my favorite model for comparing different layer heights and finishing techniques side by side. Everybody wants one, and like another commenter said, even if you get peeling, the raised arms hardly spoil the print. :-D

Today is the second day playing with my new replicator. Mr. Octopus (scaled 50%) printed with some barnacles, what do I need to do differently?

In your printomatic settings, you may need to adjust the filament diameter. I think the default setting is 1.82 mm, so you might try there and see if it helps.

Once you've got that done, print the version with the top hat! :)

His Highness printed perfectly on my Replicator.

We also discovered he floats quite nicely in the bath tub =-O

I really like that first photo, Busybotz!

From the murky deep...

Looks like you had the same leg curling up that I did... They are easy to fix after printing by just laying it on a flat surface and hitting it with a heat gun. Really nice print, btw!

I think the bed was not perfectly level. This second one in red came out flatter.

BTW these make great toys with the legs hooked together like the old barrel of monkeys. 8-) Everyone seems to like this print!

Yeah, if you click through to the barrel of octopii, it was originally made to be like barrel of monkeys... That's cool that you discovered this without being told... That would make the designer happy to know.

Awesome, I have three now, 1x, 0.5x and 0.25x. The smallest is really pushing the limits of my prusa, I want a 0.125x one now :P

Awesome! I was curious how small he could go... Was the monocle the limiting factor?

The tentacles were - the monocle was only two layers thick and very easy to lose, but it was hard to get tentacles to stick well to the bed.

Haha, Excellent job!!

Ha! A monocle. Doesn't get fancier than that.

I say, where's his cane. Won't leave the grotto without one, you know.
