Summary

UPDATE 8/11/2017: A flaw was found in the model that seemed to appear when certain slicing software was used, specifically Simply3D. Thanks to Creat3DPrints for reporting this! This also affects the Tronxy X3 Legs Model So I am updating that also.

So my wife saw the legs I made and asked "What about the parts on the top? and if I were going to make new parts for that so it matches". I smiled and I said, "I am now" and here is the fruit of that conversation.

Corner brackets for the top extruded aluminum to match the legs I made.

Notes:

Here are some of the settings I used in slic3r:

This mod will not let me print to the full 300mm height. The Z rollers hit the bracket. Luckily I was there when this happened so I could stop the print.

Yes.. I guess that is true.... sorry about that.

My X3 is in the "post" so to speak.

I like what you have done to yours. However Id like to know if there is not a "wobble" with the lead screws standing so far up? I would most certainly ask to either modify the existing top brackets to include a stabilization feature for the lead screws or two separate small parts to stabilize the lead screws?

BTW I see you like "blue" I like Yellow and will most definitely be posting my utilization of your design on this group.

There seems to be a line on the model, that appears when it is printed. Did anybody else get this?

That is strange, where is it at? What did you use to slice it?

I am using S3d, it is a horizontal line that starts where the diagonal is.

I am not quite sure I understand where it is from that If you could send me a picture? I have never used S3d before so I am not sure what to expect from that. I have used Slic3r and Cura on this model and have never seen any unusual lines on the prints. EDIT: I went to your profile and saw that you posted an image of the one you made, thanks! Looking at that image I do see a line in the finished product... but it looks like a shift during the print, is that what you are referring to?

I found the flaw and updated the model! Thanks for finding this!
