Lamp shade #2 is a fully printable design lamp shade, consisting of one base-part and 32 segments.
The greatest thing about it is the color! When the light is turned off, the lamp shade looks nearly white (kind of pastel colors). But when turned on, the colors are rich and strong.
This great effect is the result of the colored layer printed in between the white layers.
It fits on e27 and e14 (adapter) sockets.
It was one of the first things i designed for 3D printing, when I received my Makerbot in 2013.
No I want to make the design available for everybody. I hope you like it, and I would love to see some of you make it!
I got the best results when I print 3-5 of the segments together on the print plate.
The segments have a outer wall thickness of 1mm, so when you print with a 0.2mm solution, facing the plate with its outer side, it consists of 5 layers. The middle-layer is the coloured layer. With a single extruder printer you have to stop the print after the first two (white) layers and change to your chosen color and print one layer. After that, change back to white and let the printer finish the print.
The segments shall fit nice and self holding in the base (depending on your printer and settings). if you want to, you can glue them together.
