Simple model, after Aztec Teponaztli. Originals made from hollowed logs, this one is about 1/5 scale, 15 cm or 6 in. long. The two tongues are tuned about a fifth apart. Surprisingly good tone in ABS. Play with rubber tipped sticks, pencils with rubber bands wrapped around one end. Sounds even better played on a resonating surface, but you run out of hands to hold everything.
The STL file is also provided in a zip file, I can't explain why the raw file is so huge..
This one is unadorned. I'd be delighted if anyone wants to pretty one up with authentic art or with their own whimsy and publish it here. I have included the original design file for that purpose in Autodesk 123d Design format.
The STL is ready to print. It prints upside down without supports and with a solid fill. I have created a couple in ABS, 0.2 mm layers. I don't know how other materials would sound.
