I got this idea from a patron. The first portal is a bit of an experiment, if people like it I'll probably start to add doing portals in other styles in the future. Stick in a cell phone, use the included video file and you have a portal to somewhere unknown!
For instructions on how to get started with OpenForge, we have a set of tutorials. Want to sell OpenForge prints? Want to use OpenForge designs in your product, check out the license FAQ.
OpenForge is now a patron supported project. I use the resources that my patrons give me in order to get the resources to let me create more sophisticated tiles with a greater level of detail. Please, support me, and I’ll deliver an ongoing stream of awesome gaming terrain. You can find more about OpenForge and Masterwork Tools at our:
The video file is attached as portal.zip. It's a royalty free video I purchased and am including with this as a "product"
Unzip it and upload it to your phone. I am an android user, so I don't have specific instructions for iphone, but I'm sure it's fairly easy. Personally, to get the video on my phone I put it in dropbox. I use vlc to play ot, turning on looping, then using the fit feature to take the portal video to the entire screen.
As you can see in some of the pictures, I didn't follow my instructions precisely, so my phone sticks out a bit. The gap is 73.9 mm long, 11.8 mm wide and 124 mm tall. Be sure to scale the x, y or z before you print to fit your phone if it's significantly different.
Equation where xl, xw and xh is your phone's measurement for length, width and height respectively:
xl / 73.9 100 = x scaling (be sure to add a little buffer)
xw / 11.8 100 = y scaling (same)
xh / 124 * 100 = z scaling (same)
