This is an L-Band patch antenna based on Adam 9A4QAV's design. It should be capable of receiving Outernet signals from their satellites. The parts consist of two thin sheets of conductive metal.

Added a director to the design.

Happy Outernetting!

Here is a pdf of the file in case you don't have experience with the software needed to print the template. It's for 11 x 14 paper. Make sure to measure it afterwards, you may have to turn scaling off on your printer print dialog settings.

What is the material these three pieces should be made of? Thickness?
What is the spacing between the reflector and the driven element? ...the driven element and the director?
Where does the coax attach? RG-316 or RG-174?

Similar antennas for Comparison:

Feed to edge: 25mm, fed with teflon SMA connector
Center is grounded
Reflector to driven element: 7mm

Coax is RG-316? Male SMA connector.

Oh ok, I assumed you were making the antenna..never mind, I found my answers looking at pictures of the original Outerned antenna.

My design is to be used to make a template or patern for cutting the antenna elements. You can open it in the Customizer and change the dimensions if desired.

Hi Buckeye,
just come across your modified antenna design..
couple of things, please, did you stick to Adam's dimensions?
Is the director mounter at the back, reflector in the middle?
All three elements separated by 7mm INSULATED spacers?
thanx & regards

Sorry, I've yet to build one of Adam's antennas. This was put out to help others make templates to implement his design.

The reflector goes in the back, and director (in front) points towards the satellite...

Hope this helps.
