Hey! Does anyone know how these files are created? I have solidworks at my school and can use that but would love to find some resources that show the design process of something with so many dimensions.

This file was created with a combination of photogrammetry 3D scanning and a mesh modeler called Cinema 4D. I would recommend you check out Blender. It's free and is made for organic modeling (among other things). http://blender.org

Do you know if you need supports?

I printed Mine fine with no supports.

Nice cat-scan (sorry about the pun). I have just remixed this cat model in to a YouTube video, which is available under a CC license. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qvqqe_E3f4Yhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?...
