This is a modification to the Huxley feet filament holder by AndrewCraigie.
It allows you to quickly and easily remove the filament holder from the frame without messing around with nuts and washers (if like me you have fitted extra nuts to keep things in place) so you can more easily load new filament.
Refitting is quick and easy and the filament holder is retained securely with a printed face plate and wing nuts.
You will need:
2 x Quick release vertices
2 x Quick release clips
2 x M8 Wing Nuts
1 x AndrewCraigies Huxley feet filament holder http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:21955
The quick release vertices replace the two top vertices of the frame.
The existing spindle (the M8 threaded bar) should just drop into the new ones. The clips fit over the ends of the spindle and the lugs locate into the holes in the vertices. Secure with M8 wing nuts and you are done!
There 3 stl files, one with both the clip and the vertex for your printing convenience. The others are the parts on their own.
I was worried that the new vertex wouldn't be very strong. I printed them in PLA at 20% in fill, 3 sold layers, 2 perimiters and they seem plenty strong enough to me.
Note: I'm not sure how this should be licensed as I suspect the vertex is a derivative of the reprap Huxley vertex which would make it GPL, but the filament holder is CC. Eitherway, I will leave it default at CC unless someone tells me otherwise.
