I always dreamed about a compact-yet-elegant joystick for playing quick games on my computer - tetris, Packman, Mario, etc'..
I've made this simple keyboard joystick -
print it on your 3d printer --> stick it on your keyboard --> Play!

Help!: I printed this and it seems to be a great idea! But, i cant get it to work. do i need to remap my keys or do i need a new keyboard? Wait... i have exactly the same keyboard as you... but anyway... Help!

This is like months ago but press numlock and then it will work as a d pad

Can you maybe make a version for mac?

This looks like a bacteriophage :)

Wonder how a WASD version could be made... hmmm.

I doubt that this would be possible. However, if you do find a way I will stand corrected.

Well, if it was shaped to fit the WASD keys, you could just cut the cylander touching the a and d keys in half, leaving the curved sides facing towards the w. By doing this, when you go back for the s, it won't affect the a and d keys.

Print one now. Debating on magnets or foam double sided sticky tape.

Done!! Works ok with foam double sided sticky tape

Just seend the image, this is an amazing world!
I sit with a cup of coffee on this side of the world (Israel) and you make it with your 3d machine over there.. =-O

Can you upload an image of the joystick?

Did you try this?
Can the overhang actually be printed?
Does it work without just falling off the keyboard every time you touch it?

It work with double sided sticky tape just fine (Check "PrintTo3D" comment).
I can Also design it to fit a specific keyboard with "snap", so one won't have to use sticky tape!

Just replace the keys with special PRINTED keys that the joystick can fit into.

I have been meaning make one of these for 10 years. I glad you drew it. Thanks. Also check out my iphone holder and tell me what you think.
