Printing right now and editing the bottom so I can put a LED in it and have it be actually a lantern.

Can you post the file when done? I was wondering what the best way to put a led candle in was... magnets on the top of the posts? Maybe a keyed plug on the bottom to set an LED tea light into?

Good print and it was a fun project. My wife painted it. Thanks ProgressTH

very cool! thank you for sharing!

Have you considered designing it a the side grates print flat? Would save on support material.

Yes that is a good idea and we're actually in the process of doing it now. It came out really good and we want to print more, and eliminating the need for support material will be essential. Check back within the week.

Check out the STL files, just updated them and the SketchUp file. We use friction welding to assemble everything. Here is a link showing the technique.

Hot glue could also work. Let me know if you print this out and how it turns out.
