I've just upgraded to an E3D hotend and extruder, the Z banding from backlash is now really apparent. Looking at getting this installed soon. What length of spring did you use please.

i have used this upgrade for about 3 years now. i use an m6 rod instead of m8 and a m6 to m8 3d printed nut adapter. severely reduced backlash and z wobble. why m6 you may ask... because the pitch scales with common layer heights (0,05-0.2) which reduces wobble even further.

No it's not true. Still remains the effect "Wobble Z". This problem seems to be improved changing the screw. Maybe!

Hi.. Nice design... Do you have the design files? I would like to make a M10 and M5 version also. :)
Whoops... Prior comments was with the Ms's account. ;)

The design is included in the files section, it's the ipt file (autodesk inventor)

This worked great on my printer. Big improvement! Thanks!!

Really great idea, will also give it a try.
BTW ... would it make sense to increase the contact face between the printed part and the z-mount plate higher?
Based on current contstuction it is only about 1cm high.

I printed it yesterday, works great. the spring is realy a good idea. tnx for this
