Hello,
would you share the files to change some things?
I like to make some holes for some hex-nuts

The SolidWorks files are there in a .zip file.

thanks for the solidwork files

wowo perfect thanks :D

Love this! have you ever scaled it up for larger rope? I have this 3/8" diameter resistance band that I want to try this with. Would I have to scale the whole assembly by 3 x or could I just design new wheels to accommodate the larger diameter?

I don't know how I didn't see this post, sorry. I have never scaled it up. You could probably just design new wheels for your 3/8 band if there's enough room in the housing.

Have you tried it? (Since it's been almost a year)

Thanks for the reply!

I wound up using some cable grips to attach the 3/8" rubber tube but I do want to revisit this design as it worked so well for the smaller rope. There was some variation in size it could accept as is and it works great for shoelaces. I should make a bunch of these to tighten tent fly lines for camping (tents and tArps and raising bear bags and such things).

I think it could possibly be scaled in one direction only (possibly selectively scaled) to keep the footprint the same size. But I wasn't sure what things would be thrown off by doing that so I haven't braved it -- yet.

i love it. printed it out on 10% and used some 5/32" 50lbs cord. right now its hanging a 300w led light.

This is awesome!

If I get bored eventually...I'll test one of these to failure and see what it takes.

Curious to see your results. You may inspire me to do my own failure testing for comparison.

Have you done any strength testing? Either way, it looks like a great design, and I plan on printing one X)

I haven't tested it to failure, but I'm reluctant to post any results since they would be pretty subjective. I can tell you I have lifted ~30 pounds with one of mine just to see if it could, it was no problem.

Cool design.
👍

Cool, but can't you do the same thing by just tying a taut-line hitch in the cord?

ah, but not everyone knows how to tie good knots ... and even if you did (hitch would probably be stronger actually) you wouldn't get to bust out the 3D printer to make an ultra cool rope ratchet!
