Updated the Scad file to produce rotated output for easier printing. The new Scad file has the suffix rotated to use the new file.
I designed this motor mount to be able to install an oversized PARK480 electric outrunner motor into one of my RC airplanes.
This file is parametric and the mount is able to have all of its facets changed via the variables in the SCAD file.
The default stick length is 90mm, width is 10mm and the mount plate diameter is 52 mm.
SCAD file has the ability to minimalize the motor mount plate with cut-outs around the perimeter of the mount plate.
Use the precompiled STL files for quick printing. One STL file has a round mount plate and the other has a scalloped (cut-outs) mount plate.
Download the SCAD file and edit in OpenScad if you wish to customize the motor mount for your specific RC airplane.
- Modify the Variables at the top of the SCAD file as necessary.
- Save, Compile and Render your modified configuration.
- Export as STL to be printed.
Download one of the STL files if the default dimensions are satisfactory for use in your RC airplane. (parts require rotation)
Orient the object with the motor plate facing the print bed, with the stick mount facing upwards.

- Prints very cleanly in ABS.
Align your motor (& its optional motor bracket) onto the face of the printed mount face.
Mark and drill screw holes to support the hardware supplied with your outrunner motor.
Some motors allow for the power wires to run through the hollowed out stick mount.
Hot glue or epoxy the mount into the fuselage of your RC airplane.
