This is a scaled up version of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:22051. I had to split this in two stl files in order to print on the ultimaker. Some folks requested I upload the 2 stls for them to try out. So here it is...
Original file by Pranav Panchal, downloaded from GrabCAD: grabcad.com/library/eiffel-tower
6/8 Edit: I have uploaded the non split version as well - EiffelTowerTALL.stl - for people that want to download the uncut version to play around with..
- Download STL files (eiffel1.stl, eiffel2.stl)
- Print (Its quite a hard print - took about 20 hours)
- Glue Eiffel2.stl on top of Eiffel1.stl.
I sliced using Cura (https://github.com/daid/Cura/wiki). One thing to note is that the slicer did not catch the vertical parts of the railings (as shown in the image with black arrow) , so the horizontal part was sort of hanging in air (As seen in the image of print on car).. but it was just 4-5 layers, so i did not care.. Just removed those strings later.. I believe if you play around with Cura settings or other slicer settings like nozzle size, you can even get the vertical railings to print..
