Hi there, i pretty sure PLA decomposes relatively fast when submerged in water (which is relatively easy to understand since its just lactic acid thrown together, bacteria eat that stuff). A friend printed something for an aquarium and it went unusable after 3 months. I suggest ABS for stuff like this :)

Almost a full year now in the pool and the original item looks as good as the day it was printed. So, whether it's this particular PLA I can't say, but it does seem to have withstood the test of time. It's still solid.

well dayum. btw is this Hayward?

I've since learned that I've modeled this on my Plastica basket. The only difference with others should be the key dimensions though. Top OD, ID, bottom OD, ID, and height. I don't have these for Hayward, but they must be available somewhere, or you could measure yours.

3 months!. I'll definitely keep an eye on it. Thanks for the input.
