This is a small case for an OLED screen and a Wemos D1 Mini ESP8266 Wifi module.
OLED screen is connected on I2C bus, driven by a SSD1306 controller and has a resolution of 128x64 pixels (96 inches).
Wemos D1 mini ESP8266 module drives the screen and connects to WIFI network.
Four studs help to align the screen with the window and prevent the screen to touch the Wemos module.
The lid slides between small studs and clicks into the back of the case to remain in place. You may need a small screw driver to open it.
You'll find sample code in the files list which displays an Hello World message (like the one you see on photos).
All my work on Thingiverse comes with source files (not just STLs), you should do like me to make remixes easier for everyone :)
I used following softwares :
- FreeCAD for 3D modeling
- Cura for slicing
- Fritzing : for wiring schematics
- Arduino IDE : for writing hello-world example and flashing the D1 mini
for wiring schematics I used Fritzing and https://github.com/mcauser/Fritzing-Part-WeMos-D1-Mini
To check if everything would fit well before printing, I made two mockups available on Thingiverse :
I used red PLA with following temperatures :
- heatbed : 70°C
- extruder : 200°C
Printer speeds :
- print : 60mm/s
- travels : 120mm/s
How I Designed This
I made two mockups (as stated in the description) then modeled the case using those mockups to check everything can fit.
The first version had a too large screen window, studs were not large enough to maintain the lid and the USB port was not centered.
All this issues are fixed on this second version, posted on Thingiverse.
