Hi, My smart effector came with a big metal nut, just like the picture im attaching. and the adabter cant be mounted. any help?

Sorry, Found the correct part

E3d is shipping a plastic nut now that has a smaller outer diameter - do you have a remixed version that works for it?

Nevermind, I'm editing the STEP file. Trying to match the exact place you split it so I don't have to reprint the whole thing. Will upload a remix if I get it sorted.

Hey Firebug, yeah I saw you made the remix. Nice. So the nut now is 17 mm across the flats?
I will also add the 17 mm version to my thing files.
Hope you don't mind, I added your remix to the total list of adapters for the Nimble.

Sounds good! Yep, it's 17mm on the flats - here's a photo of the new nut.

What length should the PTFE be?

It totally depends on your hotend. It need to be flush with the filament hole at the base of the Nimble ideally.

I am using the e3d custom hotend provided with the pcb.

The idea is to mount it all except for the Nimble. Insert the PTFE tube all the way into the heat break and slice it off, flush with the top of the Nimble mount. You do this last before mounting the Nimble. The Nimble will clamp the PTFE tube inside the hot end.

Are you using an original berd air or is that tube of your own making?

Hi, that was a tube of my own making.
But with the length of the official tube, I am sure the small bends would be possible to make to get it to fit.

So with version 4, and the one leg lowered, this is mounted directly to the pub effector without standoffs, is this correct?
M3 nylock nuts underneath to mount the adaptor?
The Heatsink then requires no collet, is this still correct ?

Correct, the heatsink does not require a collet as the PTFE is enclosed completely.
