The Bengal-Class Strike Carrier CV-07 Tiger's Claw from Wing Commander 1
This is as close as I could come to the original design
like all Wing Commander Craft 1:500 so they fit to each other...
well sort of because obviously the game designers didn't care about how that hull should carry 104 fighters lol
anyway, have fun while I'm bussy with some more surface details and maybe a refit
Step 1: Requirements
some art work for inspiration
The picture is from the Tiger's Claw newspaper Claw Marks, that was provided with the game anno 'whatever'. By that time computer games used to have this kind of additional material.
- a skeleton model
I've found that model as OBJ somewhere in the web. But don't ask me where. This is more than 10 years ago.
It is some sort of rough but it fits for the rule of thumb.
Original art work from "Claw Marks"
Step 2: the parts
since Creo has the bad habit to be some sort of bitchy when ist comes to intersections wile using certain tools, I've started making my models out of multiple parts. That way I can also reuse certain parts as guntowers and alike in multiple assemblies.
For example the engine nozzles.
Part 3: Engine hull
Part 4: engine nozzle
engines installed, well the positions where changed in the final model
Engine Module from the other side
Part 5: the fusselage
Step 3: some details...
... like turret sockets to the parts, placing the turrets and merging all parts
an give it some colour.
