I loved the Boat tiles by ProffessorChubbs: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2380515
But the connectors were somewhat clunky and so I remixed it with the Openlock connector designs: https://www.printablescenery.com/product/open-lock/
I have altered the clip slightly to be more loose fitting, but it is still cross compatible with all Openlock connectors.
I have not altered the sharp corners.
There is some difficulty printing the rings on the main mast without support (see the picture, two broke).
There is difficulty printing the Helm without support (I have yet to try with support).
Removal of in built supports
Remove supports in the female slots. be careful not to remove the thicker supports that are set back a bit, only the ones on the edge of the model.
I took the originals, Cut off bottom, raised slightly, extruded bottom down, cut out placement for the openlock template and inserted openlock template. Where necessary the openlock template was trimmed.
- No changes were made to top of the boat tile templates, only base changed.
Due to the small width of the railings then the openlock templates could not fit. these had to be set as a default clip instead (similar choice was made by the original base design)
Openlock clip modifications
Open lock clip was trimmed to reduce height and pins on sides of clip trimmed slightly as well. this is to compensate for contraction when printing in ABS as well as avoid the tiles not lying flat if any warping in sockets.
