This robot arm is an Open Source and printable robotic arm with six degrees of freedom, designed using Spaceclaim. Spaceclaim can be downloaded under the name 'Designspark mechanical' for free with some limitations. All my sources are free to download and to use, You will find all STL en STEP files very soon. This project is still in progress!
This printed robat arm can be controlled by the hardware controler packed into this project and
will be software controlled with an own made graphical GUI controler programmed in Unity and will run under PC,Mac & Linux. Take a look at my home page.
Unity Graphical GUI robo controler
I have used a 3D printer with 200x200x150mm of printing area and 0.2mm nozzle.
Everything has been printed in ABS, in this way the motors heat dont melt the pieces.
This is the way how everything has going to work to move the robot arm.
It will be compatible for the Thor+ project.
Manual full kinematic movements has been almost ready to release!
Recording en playing senarios will be comming very soon after I printed and tested the hardware robot arm.
Because the gamepad controller will be connected to the computer you can pick any controller that you want, wired,wifi or bluetooth controled. If you want to move with keyboard strokes, no problem. :-)
There will be a plugin IO module later on where you can attach digital in and or output to interact with the robot arm! The story never ends...
