The holes on the X carriage are standard E3D, right? I like the carriage and fan mount, but need a different extruder mount.

Nice work! But... may I advice to move IR sensor far away from nozzle heater? I don't think a 200° C neighbour is healthy for it. 8-)

hello TunnelVision, can you please add the cable holder to E3D_TA_Mount_IR_1.0 like E3D_TA_Mount_IR_1.1 have? (just to get a version with 2 ir end stop and the cable holder)

Where did you get your bed? Is that plate aluminum?

Is it possible for you to upload the fusion 360 file for the TA IR 1.1 mount so I can edit it? Trying to do a remix to retrofit a cable chain

Does the E3D Titan Aero work well with the small Stepper Motor? Don´t you have any step losses with it? It seems to be a nice combination for low moving weight! I would love to use it too!

My opinion- rather than engineering-based reply would be that it works for me.

Nice build!, i printed the extruder mount and bought the IR probe. The only thing i cant figure out yet is how (via Gcode or firmware) to set the trigger hight of the sensor?
I am using the Arduino Due with a RADDS board running MarlinKimba, which i think is based on reprap software.

All configuration is done in gcode with the DuetWiFi and I followed instructions for the Z-probe; https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Test_and_calibrate_the_Z_probe and https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/mini-height-sensor-board/.

The result is 2 lines in config.g, a M558 command (https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/GCode#Section_M558_Set_Z_probe_type) which sets the probe type etc, followed by a G31 command (https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/GCode#Section_G31_Set_or_Report_Current_Probe_status) to set the trigger height etc.

That may not help at all with a different control board.

Sadly i do not have the DuetWifi board. But a Arduino Due with a RADDS shield on it. This board also has een ADC input, but i has not been programmed in the firmware as a Z sensor input.
I think i'l have to input the code of the sensor in the firmware if possible. Otherwise i need to think of something else :-).

That IR sensor was made by duet for duet boards. His post is just wrong saying it's an e3d sensor, they sell them but duet made them.

Will this X Carr work with Igus RJ4JP bearings? Or will it compress it a lot and wont work properly?

I don't have any experience with Igus bearings but the X carriage is almost identical to the original.

What bed mounting brackets are you using? I didn’t see that design in your slt list, thanks

I don't remember the exact offsets I'm using. I think I ended up with slight differences across the 4 corners due to my less-than-perfect drilling.

Good morning. Can I ask you for the Fusion 360 Carriage file? I really like this carriage, but I need to change to 10mm rods, and use nuts instead of inserts. It will make it more secure, from my point of view...

I printed out the 10mm Tension_O_Matic parts a few days ago (they look like they will be very helpful :-) ). From a quick look, they appeared okay. However, tonight I was reviewing them as I'm very close to needing them, and I discovered one small issue. The holes in Tension_O_Matic_10mm_Belt_Clamp_B don't go all the way through. Is that something you could easily fix?

Thanks for the quick response - that looks much better. :-) One other question - it looks like these are designed to use the same brass inserts as are used in other parts of the printer build. Is that correct?

Yes indeed, same inserts.

@tunnelvision hey does the x carriage work with 10mm bearings?

It uses LM8UU bearings.

The only differences from the original X carriage are the two fan mount bosses:

Sounds like the same question - its the same as the original X carriage so uses LM8UU bearings for 8mm rods. If there's an X carriage for different bearings that you want to use it might be possible to add the fan mount bosses.

Could you please share STEP file or some CAD file for the Fan duct mount only? Need to do some small modification and ill share files for 10mm rods :) Thanks in advance

If I was looking to build a hypercube Evo with the titan aero with a BL touch what are the files that are replaced from the original Evo post?

I don't have a mount for a BLTouch but the parts from the original that are replaced are Duct, Extruder_Mount, Retainer and X_Carriage. In their place are E3D_TA_Fan_Duct, E3D_TA_Fan_Duct_Mount, E3D_TA_Mount_IR, E3D_TA_X_Carriage and E3D_TA_Fan_Duct_Washer.

Thank you for the files. The only problem is that I use a inductiv probe. Could you make an addition to put the probe somehow on the carrier.

All looks good! Building my HEvos using your X carriage in anticipation of getting them going with your cooling fan setup. Should give me the freedom to rework biggsis' Chimera mount to hold a Z proximity probe, without needing to worry about cooling.

Sounds interesting. As you can see I decided to use the mini IR sensor for its lightweight and compactness.
