You really need to learn some actual history.

From neo-Confederates or segregationists?

You are to stupid to know, that is not the confederate flag, it is the battle flag of Tennessee. An uneducated twit like yourself, should n ot be giving history lessons.

"You are to stupid to know, that is not the confederate flag, it is the battle flag of Tennessee. An uneducated twit like yourself, should n ot be giving history lessons."

You're using the wrong version of "too". The people who are the most miseducated about the civil war are the ones who think it wasn't over slavery.

I wouldn't expect a liberal trash piece such as yourself to know anything about the civil war that was told to you hy the liberal trash media.

You brainwashed fool. Here's an article you won't read because you let your fears be exploited by some extremist on AM radio.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/07/01/why-do-people-believe-myths-about-the-confederacy-because-our-textbooks-and-monuments-are-wrong/

Do you actually expect me to believe an article written by a liberal trash piece such as the Washington post? Shit, they are no better then CNN. Here, try reading some real history you brainwashed tool. Then you can go cry to mommy that I'm using facts against you. http://www.ushist.com/general-information/10_causes_of_the_war_between_the_states.shtml

How many pulitzer's do your sources have?

Just more liberal bullshit.

I understand where you're coming from with this, as a born-and-raised Texan who is disgusted by the history and presence of racism in our country and the south, especially. However, this site is meant to collect objects to be 3D printed IRL. I think maybe you should think twice about having created this object—if I saw it in the real world, with someone having taken the time to model, 3D print, and paint it, I wouldn't read the text, I would simply mark the person displaying it as a racist and move on.

For many people, this is a symbol not of past racism, but a marker of who to fear physical violence from in the present. By creating this to put out into the world, people who are most affected by that very present racism are going to have a traumatic reaction to it. I don't think this is an ethical form of protest.

Even on this site, I was looking up "pride" for models to print at an LGBT event, and came across this model. If you're not intending it to be made by anyone IRL, you're spreading this message further by adding to the pollution of 'not to be printed' models on here. I would suggest maybe putting the time into something that is thought-provoking without perpetuating the harm of this racist symbol.

I entered a search for "Confederate" on Thingiverse, dreading what I would find... and was pleasantly surprised by this. Bravo!
I grew up in South Louisiana, watching the Dukes of Hazzard and listening to country music. I love the memories I have of growing up there, but the fact is that the Confederacy and its legacy is a disgrace. I appreciate your effort to put its infamous flag into context.

We have an unfortunate history that is often controversial to put in proper context because many in the South never had to come to terms with what we did.

Your view of historical facts are myopic to say the least. This was the battle flag of northern VA. How others used it does not change that fact. I applaud your remix for your creativity, I only hope you afford those you disagree with the same right, as afforded by the constitution, however I fear you don't.

This was the battle flag of northern VA.

Of which army? Fighting a war over what?

How others used it does not change that fact.

Which is why the swastika is still a symbol of peace?

I only hope you afford those you disagree with the same right, as afforded by the constitution, however I fear you don't.

I do but your opinion should never be free from criticism.

I do hope you enjoy designing objects that can be printed.

I hope you enjoy your Confederate monuments being taken from town squares and moved to museums.

Agreed. What a waste to be posting this here. There are much better forums to be airing socio-political views than a 3d model repository.

What a waste for you to be posting in this thread. If you don't like this thing, just move on. Stop spewing your democrat hate to others and trying to control every aspect of everyone's lives....

A personal rule of thumb is that I avoid politicizing non-political things. In my mind the Confederate flag is already a politicized thing.

and I defend his right to do and say it....... I know however it is not reciprocated, but I encourage creativity in design. BTW, it was not Voltaire who said that, it was
