I'm working on a version two which allows belt tensioning by rotating the motor, instead of moving the whole mount.

Good suggestion thank you.. I have some concerns about overheating also, although the motors I have (200rpm, 24v) run quite cool in my application.,

I've just assembled an updated version where the motor is held in a "sleeve" which can rotate inside the mount (for belt tensioning).
I'm considering an aluminium sleeve for high power applications.

Looks good. Although, I have concern that all that plastic around motor would contribute to motors overheating. May I suggest opening up top of the round part to improve cooling. I figured if you have opening of say 120-140 degrees, there will be enough structural strength.
