I cut off a piece of that non-slip carpet padding https://www.homedepot.com/p/Linenspa-5-ft-x-8-ft-Rubberized-Non-Slip-Area-Rug-Pad-Gripper-in-White-LS20ST58RP/300787832 and then used some E6000 adhesive to stick it to the top of the camera mount, it stays nice and tight! If you do this, be careful with the E6000, try to lay it down evenly (like you've suddenly become a 3d printer), because otherwise the stuff could make the top surface less level.

Will post pictures of the completed build, soon!

Hi Primka,

You mentioned that you designed this in solidworks. Would it be possible to have the solidworks files so I can modify it?

Thanks,
Jonathan

I'm not familiar with SolidWorks, but you should be able to import the .stl files.

Next project for me :)

Your test shot were so good I saif myself, I have to make one of these. Amazing job on this !

Thank you very much :D please upload a few pictures or send them to me, when you're done!

Just finished the STEADY-3, and trying to tune it for the first time.
Found out that it could be tuned just in one direction (for example back-forward OR left-right). so my camera is very far from being stabilized.. Am I losing something?

open tilt screen if you can... or just rorate you camera little bit to the side you want to balance it.. yeah i know that's steady's worst part...

I am starting to print the parts and acquire the hardware. I will let you know how it turns out. It looks very promising. Great job on the design from what I can tell. I ordered all parts from amazon, there were a few parts I had to get a little creative to find. But it is possible to get pretty much everything required delivered within a few days. But, you will need a saw for the tube, and the rod, unless you get things custom cut for you at a Home improvement store.

I am really excited, it seems like a fun and useful project.

Thank you! Please post some pictures when you're done :D i really want to see what you've made :D

Where did you get these Bearings? Have been to the tools shop, where they got a big collection of different bearings but havent found either one:(
Are there any chances that you will remix it with standard 608 bearings? ;)

Can´t find these either and I live in EU. 30x62x13/16 is pretty common though...

Let me know if you're planning a visit to Slovenia. Grab some bearings for me lol =)

Bearings are european standard(i'm form slovenia)... if you live anywhere else where you can't get those bearings you should probably order them online :D

que medida es el tubo de color negro , digo de diámetro

English please :D that's the only way i will be able to help you

what measure is the black tube, I say in diameter

Where can I find a pipe similar to the one you are using?

Aluminium tube... 0,5m long

what is the diameter of the tube?

where can i get the makita handle?

I dont know.. buy it online. But you can use really any handle with m8 screw

I just printed a cylinder threaded for m8, wide enough for a standard rubber bike handle to slip over it, and it worked great. Still about $5-$10 tho lmao, might as well just buy the drill handle.
