glad this is here, my Ender 5's arm broke right at the wheel used my second ender 5 to print it up XD

Creality has since stolen your design for the updated versions of their printers haha

Hi ! i printed the "arm" version, and i found a problem: The exit hole for the filament is tangent to the support face of the roller. So the filament is too low, and doesnt goes in the roller groove....

Anyway, thx for the constribution :)

It should be fixed now!

I will fix it tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know!

My extruder tension arm broke tonight. I sure am glad I found this and will print it out on my backup 3D printer!
Simply brilliant!

You're a lifesaver man. Mine broke and a metal replacement is 2 weeks out. I glued the broken one back together but I dont expect it to last long, so i'm printing this ASAP.

Glad to hear it! People like you are the ones who keep me going. ;)

I'd like to second terryb58's suggestion. I think this would be a lot more useable if you extended both arms. Maybe I'm just scrawnier than you.

I just added a fixed version to my Ultimate Extended Arm. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2605108

Maybe you should've extended both arms. You extend one and yet the other one provides little to no room for your other finger to grab onto. That's a very small improvement over the original. Or is there a reason the other arm has to be short?

Haha, I like your description :D

Unfortunatly, the genuine metal insert does not find room enough in the 3.2 mm hole. Unusable.

It is not meant to hold the metal insert.

I also thought that a little clip thing on the end for print cable might make this the perfect gizmo.

Question so the filament hole is large enough for the PTFE tube?

I knew so slow!

I am currently working on the ultimate one, so check back later! ;)

I suggest a little flange be added to push filament away from z screw.

If you look at my other model, link in the description, uses a PTFE tube to guide the filament so it doesnt run along the lead screw.

Hi thx for your Design. The Holder for the Spring does not fit at the outer perimeter. or is it only a Problem on my creality Cr-10

What slicer are you using? I also noticed that but my slicer ignored it. I used the latest version of Cura, but it should be updated tonight.

Thanks!

I use Simplify3d for Slice with 15% overlap infill to outer perimeter, and 90%infill total.

Cura 3.0 is out i will try.

Thx for reply

Just try out the new design.

Can you make the part around the hole where the screw and filament assist wheel are, thicker to match the original one?

Thanks you're a lifesaver!

can you make von with a bigger hole for a PTFE-Tube to insert, so I can but a sharpened tube inside to print flexible filament?
