Just a quick dragonfly i knocked up for the local post office and a new stamp collection they were promoting.

Printed on an Anet E10 after some tweaks, turning out to be a solid little printer, I would recommend picking one up!

If you want fancy wings, someone already did it, no point re-inventing the wheel

You make the coolest stuff, I just want to print everything you put out. Nice job, keep up the good work. I promise I won't sell it. ;)

Nice design as always Geoffro.
I think its a shame that you choose to publish all your stuff under a No Derivatives license though.
I remembered seeing a nice rendering of a veined dragonfly wing, a while back, and was just about to remix it with your Dragonfly when i thought to check the licence and saw the No Derivatives tag.

Anyway, I'll attach the link to the wing in case you decide do a remix yourself.

I hope you''ll give some thought to the No Derivatives thing. As an artist i don't think you stand to loos much form giving people the freedom to remix your work. after all they'er just redistributing your creations for you, or be it slightly modified form. Even if the remix is terrible, its still free publicity and all publicity....
Well that's my two cents on the matter anyway :)

How does this sound.

You get people like Medelis to stop taking our models from here and selling them on Patreon and I'll change my licence.

You do take offence very easily dude. None was intended. I'm only offering an opinion and your not obliged to agree with it.

I don't really understand what Medelis has to do with anything! People like him, who ignore the terms of the licence by definition don't care what licence you use.

That sounded offensive? lol

Offensive is not realising that Medelis (and whoever else feels like it ) will take this and all of your and other peoples models and sell them behind your back - so why the hell would I keep uploading models for someone like that to profit off?

You have to understand the past year on this site has been a fking nightmare thanks to that guy.

It's not aimed at you, just people like him. Yes it sucks people like him ruin it for others but that's the facts.

Geoffro it would be a shame to not see any of your new stuff on here, I always enjoy seeing your work and printing a model for the kids from time to time.
anyways I hope a couple rotten apples don't spoil your basket, for the most part %99 of us just want a bite of the apple and not looking to sell them roadside.
Either way.......thanks for your work its always greatly appreciated.

Thanks Devine,

Basically some people don't seem to understand that by me putting a non commercial license on it, all it means is that if I see people selling the model, I can actually possibly do something about it later on. They still get to download it and print it and do whatever they want wiih the print.

Selling prints of the model, well that's not part of that. As alot of people miss, you can order a 3D print through hubs off any model here with the app enabled. Even non-commercial prints, you can order. So - someone is making money there, just not the designer, in that case thingiverse (around 30%) and 3dhubs the other 70%

The only people that tend to get angry there is when there is no derivative option. Now this was ok for Margot and the Rocket Dog and many other models on here that people just accept and download and print, yet if I put no derivative on my models I am persecuted for it. :/

I've already been through having my work used in remixes and those remixes glorified with "featured" items and only once was credit given. You can try for years, but like you see on the front page today (albeit a sensational model telescope) first model, first upload.
But it sure is a far cry from squishy turtles !

I hope It wasn't my post, suggesting it would be nice to allow remixing, that you were alluding to when you talk about being "persecuted".
I've always respecter anyone’s right to publish under a whatever licence they choose to and now that you’ve explained your reasons, i can understand and respect why you opt to publish under the No-Derivatives licence.

I did reply and explain a fair bit, but its "flagged for moderation" as I edited my spelling mistakes and tried to re-save it :/

sry i dont get it, how would you allowing remixing lead to selling these models? wouldnt the remixes too be non comercial?

it's not about whats allowed. You release the model, they take it an sell it.

People don't usually pay any attention to the licensing, they just do with it what they will. In fact I'm amazed I am here actually having to defend my choices.

im completly fine with the non comercial part, its all your decision and i think everyone should respect that, i think thingiverse should pay more attention to giving credit if a model is remixed

Giving you free models to print and still complaining.

it's all good, DILIGAF? :)

unappreciative 'gimme everything free' attitudes piss me off.

People wonder why the hell I stop uploading models to thingiverse.

Why give him stick for his choice? Its his model, his decision to do what he likes.
