I have bought a few extremely cheap Chinese laser pointers (for playing with the cat). The only thing is that quality of enclosures are truly bad. They have broken within an hour.
So I have made an enclosure for all what is inside.
With 4 different roughness sanding paper and it came pleasantly smooth - it is like a fidget when you hold it in hand when sanded.
a few moments on the design
I have made the enclosure so everything slides in from the back.
Therefore the plastic cover of the button comes in first gets into its place and "hides" its pad so that the laser module slides all the way in. Then to prevent the module displacement and rotation I have inserted a piece of filament all way through the enclosure (those little side holes)
By the way you would need to connect the wire to the + contact of the laser module so it reaches the opposite end of the battery stack (in original design aluminium enclosure does that job). then the screw-in plug presses the end of + wire to the battery stack.
