Thank you very much! Worked perfectly for me. With the hobbit and the extra gear pack, this worked amazing first shot. Great work.

hobbed bolt at 25mm under the screw head. Exactly what I need. Thanks a lot

with this you are hobbing at 30 mm under the screw head? I'm asking because I need one that can hob at 25mm

how well does this hobbed bolt work compared to a bolt made with a tap or a mk7?

a tap will give you teeth on an angle. this means its also pushing the filament sideways at the same time as twisting it.

mk7 has a different profile tooth. generally has a rounded tip. Hobbing a bolt like this gives a sharp tip that digs in and requires less pressure to grip. Also can be made to a lot smaller radius meaning higher gear ratio and finer control over feed.

If you take your time and use a disc on the dremel that has been worn down quite significantly you can get some very good results for very little cost

Perfect fit even on my knock off brand dremel, thank you!

Well, can't take credit for the thread bit. Thats from Lenbok's router attachements

hah, This works much better then my duct-tape-around-threads method! Thanks for this!

Yay i can print PLA again! previous hobbed bolt was done with a m4 tap in a drill press and a bolt holder. Didn' notice it but it had worn down to the point where it would not grip PLA any more and was only working due to ABS being softer so it was able to dig in easier.

Seems to work OK even with the larger diamenter discs that come with a dremel

Great job!

I only had a Proxxon machine but with this add-on more people will probably be able to use the little bolt hobbit :)

Awesome!! I was just thinking of doing this earlier today, ya beat me to it!!
