Nice little toy made of independently moving rings. Rings are curved inside and out and just stay together. Prints in one piece.

No assembly, no hinges, no sweat.

Feel free to use, change, remix, update, etc.

For some printers the rings tend to fuse together with the normal file.
Be sure to print without supports, they can mess it up.
Alternatively your can try printing it bigger.
If that doesn't work, use the 'loose' model. It has bigger gaps between the rings. Note that the loose model doesn't work as well as a toy.

Loving it :) Makes as a great toy. What is the distance in mm between each ring in the regular one? As when printed with my Anet A8 at 100% scale, It's still a little too loose (Not too much that it will fall out)

Just printed on a Printrbot Simple Wooden at .254 slice. Apart from a little bonding on the first layer all components separated well but are about 1mm out of round so will not revolve without jamming. Not sure whether it is a printer, a software or a file problem? Nice little project, many thanks--- Mike

It's pretty different...the linked part has pegs in it, this one does not.

Great print! I'd love to see the .stl files split so this could be done with two colors in a printer with a dual extruder setup.

interested to know how you did this. I have a reprap, printed PLA. Got a hockey puck. Useless.

Scale it up a little till its right.

I printed this without support on a Up Mini. But I used ABS. I'll upload an earlier model with a bigger gap between the rings tomorrow. The outer ring may get loose though with that model.

I'm going to try printing without a raft or supports, it looks like it doesnt need them. I will let you know how it goes. (Using a makerbot rep2, PLA)

Yes, please do not use supports and try to find a setting that does not fuse the rings together. High quality printing may work best, even though it's slower.
