I printed it at 6.4cm tall with 0.12mm layer height on an Ender-3 Pro. I should've added less support as I ended up removing supports with care for an hour or two so I wouldn't break any of the fragile bits but I did break the part connecting the rocket to the base, it is incredibly small. I have yet to do any cleanup but here's my print

man, I can't imagine my self making this great!:)

any chance of a nice high res redo of this at some point? more accurate kerbal etc... ?

More accurate than the .MU file extracted from the game itself? not sure how...

Huh maybe they even increase the resolution in the last 4 years? Or more likely the texture mapping hide the polygons? It just seems a lot block year then in the game so I'm guessing the image texture-mapping covers a lot of that up?

It's not the texture map, it's the shader they use. It's called a smooth shader, it's what they use to make low poly objects look more high-res in games to conserve memory. The model is stil the same one in the current KSP version, you just apply a smooth shader and edge split to make the low poly model look better.

Think these guys ripped your design off.

And FYI Squad is on of the better indie devs out there right now.
Saying Squad would have fallen apart without the modders...that is just absurd.

And if YOU were one of the better modders then you would be Squad staff now...like Porkjet, and Roverdude....and any of the other modders they have hired.

also.....Bobcat mods have been depreciated (and not updated) for over a year now....

Hi, I love this and would like to print one but I don't want to infringe copyright. Is it okay for me to print one please? Many thanks.

  1. This is a free model, its free to print and download.
  2. Squad do not own the rights to my models.
  3. It is produced as a fan work, and therefore safe under specific legislation.
  4. Squad can kiss my ass. They have spent very little time developing a game and relied on mod makers their game alive, all the while twiddling their thumbs and not really doing alot with the money they are raking in. The best things about that game are things other people have made, like Bobcats rovers, Novapunch ... if not for the general public doing the hard work, Kerbal space program would have fallen into the gutter a couple of years ago.

Thank you Geoffro, that's awesome. Thanks for creating this. We think it's brilliant. ;0)

Hi, would you recommend with supports?

yes, I have printed standing up and on it's side and need support for both ways, if standing up less clean up.
