Summary

A Velocity Stack to fit the Toyota Black Top 45mm ITB's

I made it to teest if printed ABS is usable.

If not it will look cool on the desk.. :)

Instructions

I had no problem printing it, apart from Slic3r which did not detect the upper rounded edge, so it is not completely closed.

So you may want to split it up and print the upper 2 mm with 100% infill.

ive just purchased an ae111 levin bzr, ive had these files saved for some time, i going to take off my IMEC trumpets and try these, dont expect pics in the next week, but ill def update with photos once its done!

I have printed one of the shorter versions found here
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:198582

but that was green pla a couple of years ago now!

4AGE Black Top Velocity Stack shortened

Have finally gotten around to printing the trumpets in a nice silver, just need to find a way to vapour smooth them and mount them reliably! was thinking bout a small sleeve a lil shorter than the height of the flange so there is slight compression (i.e grip) on the trumpet itself, anyone have a better idea?

I dont think mounting it and expecting the ABS to hold up is viable, you could cast them trumpets alternatively...(i dont have that facility, yet!)

has anyoe actual used this on a car?

I don't think so, but I intent to try it out, when (if) I get the time to finish my 4age red top project.

could i see the project, im a motorhead myself. do you have a build thread somewhere?

Unfortunately not, I am very bad at updating such things.. ;)

That is a really good print for such a large part printed in ABS. Mind sharing your settings?

It's long time ago, but I' pretty sure that it was these settings I used:
; layer_height = 0.33
; perimeters = 3
; solid_layers = 3
; fill_density = 0.25
; nozzle_diameter = 0.5
; perimeter_speed = 40
; infill_speed = 60
; single wall width = 0.62mm
No fans, printed on a hot summer day.

Blacktop's older brother the silvertop had a slightly smaller intake. I printed it at 92% and looks right. have not fitted it yet so check it before you print 4.

I tried to draw ones a while ago. This is awesome.

could we get the solidworks files too?

Yep, it's attached now.

Cool now need a set for my Honda blue top motor. Whats the bolt spacing?

82.8mm and the holes are 6.5mm. Upper outer diameter is 86mm.

It's drawn in SolidWorks, I not sure what format to export it to, to make it as portable as possible.
