Hi Loubie. Thank you for tackling the squirrel. I have always been a huge fan of your designs. I hope you remember me, I am the brain injury survivor from CT who contacted you about 2 years ago. Love these squirrels!
Thanks

Yes, I do remember you and I still have your "Squirrels of Saltus Fidelis". An articulated version of this model will happen at some point, so maybe I will make a version like one of your squirrels!

Thank you so much for the tips and let me know if you print and paint this Squirrel!

¡Me encanta! Gracias :D

Its very creative work......

Awesome design job again, thanks for the great model.

Hi! I love this. Would it be possible for you to post a version where the nut is printed separately? It would make a wonderful lamp with the squirrel printed in one color and the nut something else next to transparent.

It's a cute idea and one I might try. Of course, you can always make your own squirrely derivation!

Had It been something technical I might have given it a go but removing the nut from the squirrel's hands without completely messing up the mesh would be way beyond my abilities. I'll try and see if I can do that with booleans. Thanks for the reply!

Prepping Squizzle to be an effective working light with mounts and fittings for LEDs is still technical work (as is his design - one has to have a good working knowledge of how 3D printing works in order to create a supports free model - although as a rule people only see the art).

I will probably release a derivation with the acorn as a separate piece (as it was originally sculpted), so folk can have a dual extrusion version. Which should put you in a much better place to start. However, from my initial look at the concept, you may need to redesign his hands, so they can print easily without the acorn to support them(delicate leetle fingers:-)) and to allow the acorn to be fitted and the sculpt adapted so they still look right. I don't think a simple boolean will work so well but I could be wrong.

Sorry if I have offended you. I didn't mean to imply that your work isn't technical, just that everything that even just as much as borders on art is outside my current capabilities. The way I approached this with booleans is to carve a space inside Squizzle to put the LED in. I published my remix here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2538784. Let me know what you think :)

Not offended at all:-) It's just something I've noticed. I've have a look at your derivation and give you some feedback.

Ohhhhhhh YEAH !! and I just got a roll of Purple Silk in! Time to super size another Loubie!!!

Glad to see you back in action!

Thank you! I have released other work, but the last piece was a "pay for" so I couldn't upload here.

I am totally ok with you releasing more "pay for" work. I HOPE that one did well for you because it was so worth it!

Where do I go to see your pay for work? Would love to take a look.

Tee-hee it's just the single piece so far...she's a bit different from Squizzle:
