This is a great design! Kudos!

I was wondering if you have tried shrinking the length of the bearing and whether it has a detrimental effect on the design.

Hi, I've just made it shorter : 26mm instead of ~35mm.
It has an additionnal hole in the middle part to let the motor shaft go through if needed.
Let me know if it works or if the 8mm side is too short to propery clamp the lead screw.

Thanks for such a quick update to the request!

I will promptly test it let you know

Hi, thanks !

What size would you like it to be ? I think I could get some length off without any unwanted side effect.

really good job.

best of thingiverse. really.

Thanks a lot !

Thanks for the design ndupont! I just printed one up and plan on installing it tonight! Just to clarify, when you say there should be 1mm of play, is that as between the slits? So like 1mm of play as it rotates between each part? Sorry if that's not very clear, I'm struggling a bit to put it into words haha

Hi, the play is between the parts. The middle part has to have some play between the large flat surfaces.
On the other hand, slits will be quite fit at the beginning, and tend to get some non-detrimental play after months of use.

Oooh okay, gotcha! Thanks for clarifying that! I may need to have a go with a wider nozzle then, thanks!

Your thing deserves more traction than it is getting. One of the few I have been able to print without size adjustment and have it work well. Minor cleanup on the mating surfaces but otherwise super good!
